AMA — Applied ML & AI
Workshops and meetups focused on AI and ML applications. AMA keeps the Tokyo AI community informed on the latest developments through an applied, hands-on approach.
Who we are
01
A Tokyo that stands among the world’s leading AI hubs — open, collaborative, and globally connected.
02
To connect and empower the people building AI in Japan through events, knowledge sharing, and real collaboration.
03
Curiosity, openness, and rigor — we value substance over hype and welcome builders at every stage.
04
Startups, academia, and industry working side by side to turn research into products and impact.
2023
We started building the TAI community on November 2nd, 2023, through Tokyo AI Talks (TAIT) — an invite-only group that met every two months for lightning talks and panels. The goal was to connect the brightest engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and investors interested in knowledge sharing, serendipity, and engineering excellence.
2026
Today TAI is a vibrant community passionate about progress in AI and Machine Learning, working together to make Tokyo a global AI hub. We currently run six interest groups: AMA, AMAJ, AAI, AHR, AIST, and TAIT.

The Japanese-language version of AMA, for members who are more comfortable sharing and exploring research in the local language.
More advanced discussions on AI from first principles — Mathematics, Physics, Information Theory, Statistical Learning, and the foundational research shaping the future of AI.
Where AI, hardware, and robotics meet. We see Japan as the top place for engineering and entrepreneurship at this intersection.
A global community by and for AI-focused founders, builders, investors, and enterprise partners. Now independent from TAI since November 2025.
Our invite-only community with limited seats for each bi-monthly session. The value is in the network and the interactions during the sessions.
